Are you looking forward to doing some exploring in the great outdoors? Before you can do that you have to get your quad to the trail. And unless the trail is close by, your only option will be to load it up and haul it there.

It’s important to load your ATV the right way and that requires some know-how. If you don’t load properly, you may be putting yourself at risk of an accident. And you also risk damaging your equipment. Keep reading to find out exactly how to load and secure your ATV onto a pick-up or trailer.

If you are loading onto a trailer, be sure to hitch the trailer to the tow vehicle before you load your ATV. That way the trailer won’t rock or tip during loading.

Use only those ramps that have a loading capacity that can handle the combined weight of the four wheeler, along with any equipment that is attached to it. Remember that if you ride your ATV up the ramp, your weight counts in the total as well.

Riding a quad up a ramp is dangerous. Improper loading results in more accidents than you might expect. If you do have to ride your quad in order to load, at least wear protective gear like helmet, goggles, gloves, and boots.

When loading, use first gear if possible or the lowest gear that will work to get up the ramps. Try to avoid erratic starts and stops while you are on the ramps. Do not approach the ramps at high speeds. Doing so could cause the ramps to buckle or slam into the back of the truck or trailer.

The safest way to load up your quad is by using a winch. Doing this allows you to stand well clear of the quad. It also provides you with control of the speed and more precision in the loading.

Once you have your ATV safely loaded, the next step is to balance the weight directly over the trailer or truck axle to distribute the load evenly. Put the ATV into park and then secure it to the truck or trailer bed using tie down straps.

Plan on putting two straps on the front part of the ATV, and two straps on the back. Ratchet the straps down tightly. They should be tight enough to immobilize your ATV, even if you try to rock it. Additionally, the tires should look as if they are under load.

Finally, loop the excess lengths of strap so it doesn’t flap around or drag. Then you are ready to hit the road and head for the trail of your choice with your ATV.

To get your ATV to the trail, you’ll probably need to load it up in the back of your pickup. It makes good sense to use a good solid aluminum loading ramp. Why trust your four wheeler to just any old ramp? Check out the huge variety of specialty ATV loading ramps by clicking on the link.

All terrain vehicles, also known as ATVs, are helpful tools for adventuring, off-roading, and connecting with nature. Depending on your need, it is important to know that there are many options when it comes to utilizing an ATV. In addition to choosing which type of ATV to make use of, it is also important to take steps to protect yourself when operating the all terrain vehicle.

Types of ATVs

An all terrain vehicle can be any form of four wheeler meant for driving and operating off normal, paved roads. Beyond this they can vary in their specific qualities. Some common types of ATVs include:

Sport ATVs: Lightweight, high suspension ATVs made to handle bumps, fast turns and jumps.

Side by side ATVs: Like golf carts, but capable of higher speeds and better suspensions, these vehicles are becoming popular in more rural communities.

Children’s ATVs: A smaller ATV made to be handled by a child. They have less suspension, no gears and little power in order to offer the transportation without the risks.

Varying sizes of ATVs: Varying sizes of ATVs come with varying levels of power and ability.

It is important to find a vehicle that fits your needs. Once you have done this, you will have the ability to make use of your ATV in a variety of ways. If you currently own or are considering owning an all terrain vehicle, it is important you take measures to protect yourself, such as protective gear and auto insurance coverage.

Generally a four wheeler gets very dirty after they are ridden through very muddy grounds, like in fields or woods. Debris and dirt can easily find its way in very inconvenient spots of the vehicle. While it may be true this can be quite annoying, there are easy steps to follow when trying to clean these types of vehicles.

Your very first step to the process for cleaning this all terrain vehicle, otherwise called ATV, is giving it a sufficient amount of time to cool down after it has been ridden. While you always want to clean your vehicle after its use, you do not want the engine to be hot. This heated engine needs to cool before you clean, and to do this just leave your ATV in the shade.

Once the ATV is thoroughly cooled down, utilize intense water pressure so that you can rinse the vehicle. It is generally a good recommendation for you to start the rinsing process on the top part of the frame, and work your way down. Be sure that all areas are sprayed, including all sides as well as the front and back.

It is possible that other debris will become lodged in the vehicle. To take care of this, just remember to clean the undercarriage of the ATV. After the motorized device is completely rinsed, utilize a softly bristled brush for buffing away hard water spots and dirt that the original rinsing did not get rid of.

Another great method to use, when a simple rinse and scrub does not remove all the debris, is soap and water. Fill a container with water, such as a bucket, and add some soap. Car wash soap will work fine, but if that is not available to you, dish washing liquid is a very good substitute.

In this method you can use a rag to apply the solution if you wish. Make sure that you clean the vehicle completely on all sides. If the dirt seems caked on or will not remove easily, use a scrub brush on the more stubborn areas.

For seemingly impossibly stained spots, more powerful cleaners will be required. A great suggestion is a tire cleaner that is mixed with bleach. Still one more tough cleaning is known as an etching cleaner that has acid in its composition. Remember to only use these on areas that a simple rinse or soap and water cleaning will not remove.

Next you will need to apply a protective coat to the body. This can be done using what is called a shine spray, or other such product. Doing this will provide a protective barrier which works well in keeping the frame from absorbing mud and dirt. If you follow this step your next cleaning session will be much more simple to do. Lastly, wipe the frame down utilizing a synthetic polish with a piece of cloth or rag.

Remembering the necessary steps for cleaning and maintaining your four wheeler can be extremely beneficial. You will be able to have a better looking ATV. Along with this fact, your ATV will probably be able to look as nice as the day you purchased it.

ATV classifieds can help you buy or sell a new or used ATV. This is a great way to find what you are looking for at a price you can afford or sell something you no longer want. If it is just sitting there then you should let someone buy it that can use it and get some money in the deal while you are at it.

You can find any make or model you are looking for. Some people may even sell ATV’s that no longer run for parts or to be fixed. You can usually get these really cheap. Also people often want to buy models that don’t work to fix up or use the parts to fix one they already have.

ATV stands for all terrain vehicle. These can usually go just about anywhere you like. They are perfect for off road. Size does make a difference though. Be sure you get the proper size for the rider and your needs.

Children should always be properly supervised when on these. These are still motorized vehicles and should be used with caution. They have the potential to be very dangerous if manufacturer’s safety guidelines are not followed. These should not be used on public roads.

You should always ask questions about any motor vehicle before you make a purchase. Beware of anyone who asks you for money through the mail or though a wire transfer. When possible you should see the item for yourself before you give any money. If you are selling then make sure you receive all of the money before you allow the merchandise out of your possession.

ATV classifieds can be a quick and easy way to buy or sell any all terrain vehicle. You can browse for free or list your ad within minutes. Check out this great service today.

Aside from motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATV) or quad bikes are also popular choices especially when it comes to rough or rugged riding. They are highly recommended if you want to get the best out of dirt road or jagged terrain adventure since they are equipped with the right amount of durability and safety that you need. Yes, for all-day rough driving, the large, low-pressured tires and added wheels could give you the fun that you need without you worrying about a scratch. But before practicing your purchasing power to these vehicles, it is best if you could be familiar with the features and parts that these ATVs have such as the tires, engine type, cooling system and even the quad exhaust.

ATVs or quads are known for their large front and rear tires that are oftentimes 21″ in sizes. These tires are also accompanied by suspension and ground clearance suitable for any types of grounds. So whether you are on for a laid-back ride in the suburb or roadless, rough adventure, these vehicles could be your companion. You can also choose between automatic and manual transmission and engine that runs from 150cc to 400cc. Most quads are made convenient to use as well through their easy-start feature and kill-switch feature that allow any riders to switch-off the engine immediately during emergencies.

ATV also translates style through parts like the quad exhaust which are equipped not just to guarantee superior performance through less air-flow but also style. And if you want to improve the look of those exhaust pipes, you can raid the market for end caps in different colors and styles.

Aside from the offered convenience, style and useful features, these vehicles are also made for safety. Some ATV’s are manufactured with durable straps that will help keep riders in place during bumpy rides. Heavy duty sprockets or chains are also built-in to make even the toughest and roughest ride safe and fun at the same time. And what else could be better than enjoying rough driving with still the same smooth and safe feeling. Yes, even when driving through the roughest terrains, you could be assured of a seamless ride because of the rear shocks and extended swing arm that these vehicles possess. To regulate speed, you could also control the throttle located on the handle bar. Moreover, handbrakes are also made user- friendly that with just one click, the vehicle halts. And for dark, rainy nights, nothing beats those adjustable, large front headlights that would provide you your needed amount of light.

Those mentioned are just some of the features that made quad bikes a popular choice. They can be seen on almost every street, (or at least on the streets of the 50 states where this kind of vehicle is made legal). So if you want to grab one of these and experience fun, style, safety and adventure all at the same time, there are different products available on the web. Be particular about the manufacturer, the product itself, and the important features or parts such as the tire, headlamps and quad exhaust pipe before making your choice.

Men, since ages past are the ones who are mostly engaging in hazardous sports as compared to women. Most of these extreme sports are considered to be the “barbaric” means in which men often enjoy entertaining themselves. Some even say that these extreme sports were what became of all those bloody arena games of men where bloodshed and killing were inevitable. Although there are other people who argue that extreme sports was just an offshoot of sports gone wrong and sports such as boxing and wrestling are the authentic extreme sports. Whichever you may believe in, it is said that the supposedly entertaining war games of medieval times have evolved into what we now know as extreme sports since the world is now a more peaceful place as compared to before. These days, there are a few women with dare devil hearts who have also been actively participating in extreme sports and more and more of them are starting to get better. At times, these women even outperform their male counterparts. This open mindedness today is due to the fact that the world as a whole has been exposed to a more liberal way of thinking thanks to the rise of the internet and the constant improvement of technology.

Also, the internet has become a means of being able to spread information quickly. This may have added to some of the reasons why more and more people, even women are joining extreme sports which was before considered to be for men only. Yet not only information is passed down through the internet but also exciting videos of the hazardous sports can be viewed where accidents usually happen. One of the most popular extreme sports being engaged in by dare devils of all ages from all nations of the world is motocross. Many aspiring hazardous sports dare devils utilize the internet to be able to watch how their favorite riders race through the dirty off road tracks. They also use it as an advantage to research information on how to improve their very own custom ATV while getting opinions from other fellow aspirants or professionals.

Hazardous sports surely are becoming more and more popular in our current generation due to its fresh and fearless approach of things. Though you might not believe it, some modern extreme sports such as motocross have been of existence since the early 1930’s. There also were official sanctioned motocross racing tournaments in some countries and even worldwide at that time. Though technology was not as advanced then as now, performance tweaking was what the Europeans did to their bikes in order to come up with superior custom ATV units. This is the reason why Europe has dominated the world of motocross racing for five long decades.

If you are planning to also engage in extreme sports such as motocross, it would be ideal to first check your budget since it is a very expensive sport. Just creating your custom ATV would cost you a small fortune excluding all the fuel that your ATV would be consuming during practice. If your budget can’t handle it then there is nothing to worry about because there are a lot of other alternative extreme sports that you can enjoy without spending too much such as mountain climbing, mountain biking and air diving.

Read and check out the following items you might need when driving your own ATV.

Riding your own ATV is one of the most thrilling experience you could have. Before doing that, you must secure some accessories that might come in handy for safety and convenience in handling your ATVs. Here’s a list of items you might need.

Lift kits

Suspension lifts are needed to elevate the ride height of the ATVs. These accessories permit a steeper ascent and descent, and can enable higher ground clearance. With Lift kits, you can have more space for bigger tires. One drawback though is the legality, as some laws have limits on heights and placement of bumpers.

Safety gears

Safety equipments are a must for ATV drivers. You need helmets with full-face covers to protect your head while driving. Eye-goggles to prevent dirt from coming contact with your eyes. Gloves and safety pads to protect your hands, knees, chest, and extremities. A kidney belt to help position your backs and stomachs when driving.

ATV trailers

ATV trailers come in handy to transport your ATV to the place it will be used. In US, driving an ATV is not legal in some states so it’s wise to invest an ATV trailer. The trailer should feature solid frames to keep the ATV in position while being transported. The usual trailer have a perfect design to enable supreme maneuverability and stability on it’s load, while driving on the highway

ATV ramps

Ramps are needed to transfer your ATVs from the ground back to the trailer or trucks and vice versa. It’s a handy equipment efficient for moving and securing safely your ATVs. Ramps come in different shapes and sizes and prices depend on the weight and length.

Cab enclosure

Cab enclosures are necessary to protect your ATV from unpredictable weather conditions when you are using it. It can a frame or a cabin cover. Choose appropriately the covers that fit on your ATVs.

Snow blade attachments

A snow plow made with corrugated steel comes in handy when you constantly shovel snow or scrape of dirt from your ATV. If you think of buying an ATV snow plow, find the one best fits your ATV.

Since the use of ATVs are limited in most parts of the States, you must be confident of the items that you might need for convenience. Always observe safety precautions.

Whether you’re a new rider or one with lots of riding experience, before you start exploring, it’s important to be aware of how to be safe on the trail with your ATV. You often won’t get a second chance, so to paraphrase the old saying, it’s much better to be safe than to be sorry afterwords that you weren’t.

Number one is to wear proper protective gear. And the most important gear is your helmet. You just never know what you might unexpectedly come across when trail riding, from a low hanging branch to a deep dip in the trail that causes a spill. So always, always, wear a certified and properly fitting helmet.

Granted you are out to have some fun. But leave the alcoholic beverages including the cold beer for after the ride. It’s illegal not to mention dangerous to operate any kind of a motorized vehicle after drinking. That includes your ATV.

Never hit the trail alone, unless the trail is well travelled and you are very familiar with it. If a mechanical failure occurs you could be stranded far from help. Or worse yet, if you have an accident and need medical attention, without a buddy, you might end up in a bad situation. And hey it’s usually more fun riding with friends than to go alone anyway.

Always bring your cell phone anytime you head out on your ATV. Coverage is good in many areas and even if you lose coverage at some point, you know that if you go far enough you can call for help if you need to. It’s hard to plug a destination into a GPS way out in the wild. So if you do happen to lose your way or take a wrong turn on a trail, directions are only a phone call away.

Try to have a topographical map for any new area that you decide to explore. This type of map shows enough details to help you figure out where the heck you are after that fork in the trail doesn’t lead you to where you thought it was going to.

Be sure to check out the weather report before heading out on the four wheeler. Even if you love riding in the mud or snow, it’s good to be aware of conditions before you leave so you can bring and wear the right gear

Don’t push yourself. If you don’t feel great don’t ride. If you start to feel bad while riding, head back. Riding an ATV in rugged conditions is no walk in the park. It takes a lot out of you even if you don’t think that it does. You don’t have to be a hero. Why not save your ride for another day?

By taking a few precautions, you will ensure that you stay safe on the trail with your ATV.

To get your ATV to the trail, you’ll probably need to load it up in the back of your pickup. This is another place where it pays to be safe. Don’t trust your four wheeler to a mickey mouse ramp.
As I my thoughts were traveling in all possible directions to get a great gift for my kid this New Year, I found one of my friend’s online videos to see his kid driving an ATV with all fun and pleasure. The moment I saw the video, I decided to gift one to my son.

I started searching online for the best available brands and offers, I was surprised to see that the options available online was really incomparable to what I had in my mind. There are plenty of option beginning right from mini ATV’s to high power 250cc ATV’s, I was also able to find few offering customized ATV’s for kids.

The next part is I was worried more about the safety. I made sure in my mind that I should see to all available safety features more than looking into offers and discounts in the cost. Then I started researching about the safety features of kids ATV’s.

• A special device called speed restrictor is attached to almost all available kids ATV’s, and the best part of it is that you can adjust and set the maximum speed between 5 to 10 miles per hour, so that the kid is totally protected when it is learning.

• Though not required, it is always advisable to get an ATV attached with a head light; sometimes it may help you in emergency.

• Ensure that the braking system is perfect and advanced so that the kid shall have complete control of the machine.

• Check out for emergency engine cut off options that are available with the ATV’s. You can attach a long string or a chord to the emergency engine cut off control, mostly it is present at the backside of the ATV. By doing this, you can just walk along behind your kid when it is learning and in case of any emergency; the emergency engine cutoff control can be pulled through the chord which completely stops the engine immediately.

• The next thing is the shock absorbers. Buying a Kid’s ATV attached with a rear mono shock absorber is the best option. It gives a lot of cushioning and balance to the kid.

• Other features that you have to look into may include trying and buying a less noisy vehicle, an electric start, and an automatic transmission option for easy handling.

There are plenty of manufacturers in the Kid’s ATV segment and due to a highly competitive market, you can easily find a lot of attractive deals and offers to get the best available ATV for your kid, and of course a gift that your kid would love to get from a parent.

Tuning enhances the performance of the car. It is regularly needed for a car especially if it is modified one. With proper car maintenance, the tuned up car will surely give its best performance giving maximum efficiency. The main idea behind car tuning is to improve its handling and performance.

If the car is not properly maintained and regularly checked then it cannot be considered a tuned car even if had undergone tuning before. A car can get permanently damaged if it is not given proper attention and fixed right away. A tuned car will need much more attention as compared to a regular car. Tuning ensures that the car is at its best all the time consequently prolonging its life length.

It is recommended to tune-up a car after every two years or after 30,000 miles. During the tune-up, the car will get some new parts that will be helpful in keeping it out of the shop for a time. Following is needed to be done for tuning the car.

Step 1
The fuel filter has to be replaced. If there is a fuel-injection system then its not necessary to do regular cleaning the injectors are blocked.

Step 2
The spark plugs have to be changed. If they are platinum made then the car can run for 30,000 more miles. The wires of the spark plug also have to be examined and can be replaced if required. A new set consisting of high-quality wires is worth the cost. They can be permanently attached to the distributor cap so it will also have to be changed.

Step 3
The rotor and distributor cap also has to be replaced. They can be only changed if they are present in the car because some new models with distributor less ignition don’t have it.

Step 4
The condenser and points have to be changed. In case of old car roughly 1978 model or older, then it does not have feature of electronic ignition. The points would have to be preferably changed or at least they can be adjusted after every six months or so. If they are changed then the ignition timing can be also checked.

Step 5
The ignition timing has to be checked and adjusted if needed. It is rare for a car that has an electronic ignition like post 1980 models and some cars don’t have this at all.

Step 6
The valves have to be adjusted as needed. It is not required in case the car has hydraulic valves. It must be made sure that the valve-cover gasket is also replaced as well, especially if oil is seen on top of the engine.

Step 7
The fan belt also has to be checked. They would have to be replaced if they are worn out.

Step 8
The fluids under the hood have to be checked and they must be refilled as necessary. The engine oil and oil filter would have to be changed if the car has crossed over 3,000 miles since the last oil change.

Step 9
The air filter has to be replaced; it should be changed between major car services or after every 15,000 miles also.

Step 10
The clutch has to be adjusted if there is a manual transmission. Even though some cars are now sporting self-adjusting clutches.

Step 11
The battery has to be serviced; distilled water can also be added if required. The cable ends and terminals are also needed to be cleaned.

Step 12
The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve has to be replaced. This can make the car run roughly or also get stalled if it gets blocked. It is not expensive and it’s easy to replace.

There are different ways of tuning a car. Learn how to tune a car and also how to car air conditioner.
